Objective: Students will create a simple story inspired by their Museum tour using Voicethread.
Materials:
Introduce: Take students on a guided tour at the Milwaukee Art Museum. We suggest using the Communities and Traditions tour for this lesson.
Ask:
- What is a community?
- How does art show community?
Activity:
- Take students on a Communities and Traditions tour at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
- Have students choose one of the artworks they saw on their tour as inspiration for their story. Images of artwork can be found here.
- Students will use Voicethread to create a simple story to share with classmates.
- Have students listen to and comment on at least one of their classmates’ stories.

- VA:Cn11.1.8a Distinguish different ways art is used to represent, establish, reinforce, and reflect group identity.
