Junior Docent Student Artwork
Everett Bender—Deerfield Elementary School
This sculptural artwork is made up of ten reflective, identical rectangular blocks. Each box has sides made of blue anodized aluminum and the top and bottom surfaces are made of clear acrylic sheeting. The bright blue colored shapes, spaced perfectly, create an illusion of a longer and larger rectangular sculpture. The smooth and shiny surfaces bring out curiosity and make me want to view the artwork from several angles.
I chose this three dimensional work because it drew my eye to it and looked so fascinating. I see happiness when I look at this sculpture. I think that if this artwork could talk, it would try to say “come play with me”. This exhibit makes me feel curious because of the bright color, reflection, shadows and the shapes.
