Objective: Students will be able to connect their current experiences and knowledge of the Wisconsin State Fair to the history and its significance in Wisconsin culture.

Look: What do you notice about the ribbons? What do the ribbons say? Did you notice the different types of ribbons?

Write: Where do you think the ribbons came from? What are the ribbons telling us? Have you seen ribbons like this before? Why might there be ribbons hanging like this by the cow?

Share: How come the artists painted a person as well? What does this add to the painting? How does this connect to what you’ve seen in your daily life? Is there a specific event like this in Wisconsin?
