Objective: Students will collaborate to create a dance inspired by a work of art.
Materials:
- Images of selected artworks
Introduce: Demonstrate examples of movements inspired by a work of art.
Ask:
- How can artwork inspire other creative fields? (music, dance, film)
Activity:
- Project an artwork to the class or hand out selected images to groups of students. (this could also be done in the galleries)
- Arrange students around the selected artworks.
- Have each student create a movement that is inspired by the work of art.
- Repeat the motion as a group after each student shares.
- When each student is finished, perform the entire dance as a class.
