Choose two haute couture garments from Inspiring Beauty: Ebony Fashion Fair and have students compare and contrast them. Discuss what is similar and what is different about the garments. Who might you expect to wear the garment? What function might she attend? Extend the lesson by having students write a narrative story from the perspective of the garment and what it remembers from “walking” the runway!
