Objective: Students will learn about the architect Santiago Calatrava.
Materials:
- Paper
- Writing utensil
Introduce: Project an image of the Milwaukee Art Museum. Using a KWL Chart students will write what they already know, what they want to know, and what they learned about Santiago Calatrava.
Ask:
- What is this building?
- What is it for?
- What does this building remind you of?
- What is an architect?
Activity:
- Show an image of the Milwaukee Art Museum and explain that the building was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
- Have students create a KWL chart and fill in the “Know” and “Want to Know” sections with information about MAM or Santiago Calatrava.
- Show this video.
- Have students finish filling out their KWL Chart with what they learned about Santiago Calatrava.
- Students can compare their charts with peers.
