Objective: Students will explore the significance of the Titanic, discover what caused it to sink, and will express their understanding through creative expression. 

Notice, Wonder, Ask: What do you notice about the painting? How does the painting make you feel about the Titanic? Why do you think the artist chose to paint the Titanic? What happened to the ship after it hit the iceberg? How were people able to survive? 

Look: Have students look at the painting, looking at important and interesting details. 

Write: Have students write down a thought or fact related to the Titanic or the Titanic painting. 

See: Have students create their own painting of the Titanic, showing the causes of its sinking. 

Share: Students share out their artwork, and share what causes they added in their painting
